In this supervisory role I served as the senior interior officer, incident command, training officer and fire prevention manager. I was responsible for developing and implementing weekly departmental training for our members. This included overseeing probationary firefighters to encourage success and development within their role. I completed NFIRS reports providing a full summary of incidents. My primary responsibility was fire suppression, vehicle extrication, medical response, fire prevention and community education. I worked diligently to become an established and well educated member. I quickly applied what I learned from the books, out into the field. This fast tracked my on-the-job knowledge and fire experience. I earned the role as a senior man and was responsible for interior crews. I had the ability to complete an individual size up and successfully implement an IAP that quickly provided results. I would coordinate with the IC, OPS, or OIC giving interior progress. The same concept was applied throughout our various incident response types. I reported directly to my Captain and was entrusted with the most crucial roles on the fireground.
