My role in the Emerging Technologies Lab involved research, requirements analysis, prototyping, and managing the implementation of projects in manufacturing, distribution, and retail environments. My role specializes in the exploration of cutting-edge technologies including IoT Sensors, Automation, 3D printing, 3D Scanning, Machine Learning, VR, AR, and more.. - Built relationships between IT, Manufacturing, R&D, and other departments through my bimodal team.- Reduced costs and improved quality through supply chain optimizations.- Challenged the status quo by developing processes that drive innovation.- Proved the value of new technology with pilot programs.- Enhanced employee training and learning with emerging technologies- Decreased time to market for regulated food products.

My role included both software and hardware engineering as required to build out projects for research missions at the Center for Ocean Technology. One of my projects was an autonomous drifter that collects data measures including temperature, conductivity, and pH levels, then sends the data back over satellite link. I customized the drifter's hardware (Raspberry Pi, Atlas Scientific sensors, and waterproof temperature probes) and software (using Python and shell scripts for automation) to meet the needs of the research project. I continued to volunteer with the Center for Ocean Technology to aid in the deployment of vessels using similar code and hardware design through the end of 2019.
