  • Virgin Galactic
Specialist Engineer - Hybrid Propulsion Test
Virgin Galactic Feb 2021 - Present
    Tustin, Ca, Us
As the Specialist Engineer responsible for avionics and data systems within the propulsion test team, I have played a pivotal role in the development of critical data acquisition software for the hybrid rocket motor test stand, enhancing its monitoring and control capabilities. Led the design and implementation of a comprehensive verification and validation testbenches for propulsion components. My proactive approach extended to defining and executing automated tests, ensuring propulsion avionics components were verified and validated to the design requirements. In a significant accomplishment, I collaborated closely with design engineers to provide valuable insights for design iterations and test stand reconfiguration based on test requirements. This collaborative effort contributed to the qualification and acceptance tests, facilitating the smooth integration of propulsion avionics components into the flight vehicle.Notably, as a key member of the propulsion test team, I was intimately involved with execution of 32 hybrid rocket motor hot fire tests on the test stand in Mojave since 2015. The pinnacle of this achievement was the testing of the most powerful hybrid motor used in a manned spaceflight, which was awarded the distinction of a Guinness World Record. This accomplishment underscores my commitment to excellence and innovation in propulsion development and testing, solidifying my position as subject matter expert in the field.
