Undertake the financial assessment of the viability of existing and new Master Trusts of Defined Contribution pension schemes seeking authorisation from TPR in accordance with new legislation under the Pensions Schemes Act 2017 (the Act). This includes critically assessing the;viability of business plans for Master TrustsSchemes financial sustainability and continuity strategy requirements financial strength of Scheme Funders and, where appropriate, guarantors.Internal and external stakeholder engagement and correspondence.Provide technical input to relevant teams and support the establishment of internal operational procedures and framework to authorise and supervise Master Trusts in accordance with the Act.Provide technical and financial input to the development and drafting of external documentation (Codes of Practice and secondary legislation) for the authorisation and supervision of Master Trusts.

Undertake pension scheme employer covenant assessments, including the ability of the scheme sponsors to fund their present and future defined benefit pension obligations.Provide effective end to end management of a portfolio of pension schemes, including complex regulatory interventions, internal and external stakeholder relationships.Consider advice from and work alongside internal advisers (including, lawyers, actuaries, covenant advisors and investment consultants) to set and develop outcome focused case strategies.Oversight and management of internal administrative support to ensure accurate audit records are maintained and specific case knowledge is effectively managed and shared across the wider case team.

Assessing the ability of pension scheme sponsors to fund their present and future defined benefit pension obligations, advising on economically viable solutions and other defined benefit pension related issues, predominantly in report format followed by a presentation.Provide advice to corporates, helping them understand and solve a range of other UK defined benefit pension issues, including transactions, Mergers and Acquisitions related due diligence, clearance applications, options papers, flexible apportionment arrangements and funding tests. Analysis of historical accounts, forecasts and their achievability, financial structures, capital requirements, solvency including security position and estimated outcome statements.Conduct transaction impact analysis to identify areas of risk and develop appropriate strategies to mitigate any detriment to the employer covenant of pension schemes.Review and interpret legal documentation in relation to group guarantees, contingent assets, registered charges and pension schemes trust deed and rules. Create and present pitches to potential new clients.
