As part of this, it provides a Cloud-based solution that allows users to quickly deploy web and email security to all users, at any location, without the need to purchase or maintain hardware or software.History: I joined Websense in December 2010. In May of 2013, Websense was acquired and taken private by Vista Equity Partners ($906M). In April 2015, Raytheon and Websense announced plans to combine the Raytheon Cyber Products (RCP) unit of Raytheon's Intelligence, Information and Services business with Websense in a deal valued at $1.9 billion. In January 2016, the new company launched the Forcepoint brand, and at the same time completed the purchase of the Stonesoft and Sidewinder firewall groups from Intel.I was responsible for the Forcepoint SaaS Web Security products (Software Development and Cloud Operations)

ScanSafe, an award winning web security company (2007 SC Magazine, 2007 CODiE) provided a "security-as-a-service" solution to block malware before it reaches a customer's network. The company was acquired by Cisco in 2009.• I was responsible for all R&D and QA activities for the SaaS based product, which offered customers a real-time web-filtering and malware scanning service from the cloud. • Development included the service configuration console, distributed proxy and scanning software, Windows endpoint client, 3rd-party and partner software integration, provisioning tools, data-mining and machine-learning research.

Engaged with BT as a consultant to manage the development of eCatalogue, part of the BT Wholesale equipment venture, enabling 3rd-party service providers to order customer premises equipment (CPE) and services online. Following this, I worked for the BT Wholesale Markets OSS group, defining their system architecture and implementation for a white-labeled multi-product ordering system to allow a service providers’ end-customers be able to place orders on an ‘own brand’ web portal.

Fonem Ltd., was a start-up venture utilizing speech recognition technology to implement a hosted (multi-tenanted) telephone switchboard. The product was aimed at the SME market, and allowed businesses to fulfill their receptionist requirements through a 3rd-Party service. Calls could be routed by name, and switched between PSTN or mobile handsets.

Host Europe (acquired by Pipex) explored creation of a multi-media information service based on Web, WAP and IVR content delivery. The project focused initially on the development of a voice-portal using speech recognition for which I was responsible for both hardware infrastructure, software architecture and ongoing development.

At 3Com (through USR acquisition) I worked in the Carrier Systems Division on CommWorks, a VoIP transparent-trunking gateway used for long distance call traffic. During this project, I moved to the United Kingdom, and took up a position to manage the migration of CommWorks for EMEA.

At USR I was jointly responsible for the development of EdgeServer, a first-of-its-kind RAS platform built on Windows NT (working closely with Microsoft). EdgeServer was an incredibly successful product which received seven industry awards, including ‘Best of Show’ at NetWorld+Interop. Microsoft subsequently used software developed in this project in the protocol stack for Windows NT and later OS variants (W2K/XP).
