Steven is a Partner in Ward Hadaway's the commercial team. His practice covers a wide range of business clients, from local businesses to household-name multinationals, advising on commercial contracts and corporate governance issues. Steven also leads Ward Hadaway's Transport and Infrastructure team.Steven has substantial experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts. He has particular expertise negotiating in complex, long-term service contracts, especially in the transport and infrastructure sector. Steven has extensive experience in acting for businesses engaged in regulated sectors, such as ports and utilities. He is highly regarded by clients for his practical commercial approach to contract negotiation, and his understanding of their wider business objectives.Steven also has considerable experience of business governance issues in relation to companies and partnerships and regularly advises on the regulation of relationships between shareholders, directors and partners.Notable commercial contracting projects Steven has advised upon include:- Advising a major port authority on a multi-decade services agreement with a customer responsible for the operation and maintenance of an offshore wind farm, including port services, stevedoring and a related property development on port land- Acting for a market-leading PLC in the negotiation of a long-term outsourced services contract, valued at over £300m- Acting for a large utilities company on the drafting and negotiation high-value supply agreements to support a major government-backed infrastructure project- Advising a large chemicals company on the negotiation of long-term supply agreements with a customer in relation to a nationally-significant volume of a key commoditySteven’s relevant experience in the business governance and reorganisations includes:- Advising an international manufacturing and engineering group in relation to a multi-jurisdictional group re-organisation - Acting for a leading financial services organisation in relation to the re-organisation of their group of LLPs - Acting for two directors of a successful engineering business in relation to the settlement of shareholder dispute, and a subsequent sale and re-organisation of equity within the group
