Steve Rothwell, brings with him some 12 years of measurement experience using FARO’s portable range of measuring equipment. As the sole UK Applications Engineer I was responsible for looking after the UK’s customer base. As well as supporting existing sales I also helped out on technical sales demonstrations, training of new customers and was also solely responsible for advanced training of existing customers.In March 2000 I was made Senior Applications Engineer when we employed another full time Applications Engineer and a Training Engineer who both reported directly to myself. These extra personnel enabled me to shed some of my existing workload and concentrate on growing a new side of the business offering a contract measurement service to companies who do not have a full time roll for an arm of their own. This service includes a full and detailed measurement of their component (or assembly) and then at the end of the measurement issuing them with a detailed report.

A large commercial exhaust manufacturing company based in Warrington. I commenced employment at Wasey’s in May 1994 as a Draughtsman using AutoCAD Light and was quickly promoted to a Product Development Engineer to joining the engineering department.Whilst working at Wasey’s I became proficient in the use of a range of CAD systems including AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD Release 13.In order to fulfil my role as a Product Development Engineer, I was trained to use Addison CNC pipe manipulation machines.The most recent training, which I have undertaken was in the use of a FARO Arm portable Co-ordinate Measuring Machine, this commenced in November 1997. As the appointed engineer in charge of the FARO Arm, I have been involved in subcontract project work on behalf of new customers and have lead demonstrations of its capabilities, both to investors and to potential customers.
