Broad-based litigation practice encompassing complex commercial disputes in both federal and state courts and arbitration. Conducted legal research and drafted motions, pleadings, and memoranda of law for actions involving breach of contract, fraud, shareholder appraisal, and Article 78 proceedings. Managed case discovery and court filings. Prepared applications for pro bono clients seekingasylum. Researched and presented firm-wide CLE program on the Commercial Division of New York State. Participated in Venable’s Trial Academy in Washington, DC.

Conducted extensive legal research on commercial disputes in state and federal courts. Completed complex document review. Drafted and revised motions, briefs, and memoranda of law. Wrote articles for European Competition Law Review, edited law journal articles and sections of a legal treatise on class actions, and drafted and revised portions of a book on nanotechnology and the law and a New York criminal case law handbook. Represented pro bono clients in matters involving the death penalty, immigration, domestic violence, divorce, and child support.

Conducted research and investigative fieldwork for inmates on death row and juveniles sentenced to life without parole. Met with client in maximum security prison and traveled throughout the Deep South to interview family members and friends of client. Drafted numerous memoranda based on information uncovered through investigative research. Completed fieldwork and drafted memorandum for community project to raise awareness of lynchings that had occurred in Alabama.

Aided professor with daily lessons, revised assignments, and worked with law students to help teach them the basic skills of lawyering, such as legal research, brief writing, negotiation, and oral argument.
