    EGL Genetics, formerly Emory Genetics Laboratory (EGL), was a university-based, non-profit diagnostic laboratory. When I joined in 2013, the lab's marketing efforts were limited to a branded website and a conference calendar. I opened up all marketing channels, with a strong focus on eMarketing, social media, targeted campaigns, and an extensive library of clinical and patient resources. During this time, I led EGL through its first complete corporate rebranding and expanded my team from one to seven members. As we were a non-profit and therefore had tight budgets, it was necessary to do more with less and develop unique solutions to achieve marketing goals, while still be bottom-line focused. This was accomplished by developing concise goals and appropriate metrics to evaluate successes and determine the need for business and marketing plan adjustments.When I was brought on-board, EGL also didn't have a sales team or even a client list. I offered my extensive experience in sales to develop a CRM/CMS system, whereby we could track and manage client relationships. I also led efforts to identify, vet, and contract strategic partners to expand our commercial reach in the absence of a sales force. This also positioned me to take on operational responsibilities to streamline lab processes and improve client service levels such that they could compete with other laboratories. As Director of Product Development, I defined market need, developed business cases, created product positioning, and launched over 200 genetic tests, with greater focus on next generation and exome sequencing. This was particularly challenging in a fast-growing and increasingly more crowded marketplace.In 2015, I took a lead role in an investor process by providing a strategic business plan and corporate profile that resulted in the September 2015 partial acquisition by Eurofins Scientific. Post-acquisition, I led a team of marketing experts through a second complete corporate rebranding.
