Your creditor nor the credit bureaus simply can no longer report it on your credit report (because they are unable or unwilling to document that they are and have been reporting it in full compliance with all the consumer credit laws that apply to them).- In such cases debt negotiation is an option. Remember, by the grace of God, Jesus paid our debt (of sin) so we are now debt free (free from the penalty of sin). Therefore, based on that scriptural principle of grace and forgiveness of debt, I believe you may freely ask a creditor to show you grace and to relieve you of all or part of your debt if you are unable to repay due to circumstances beyond your control. However, as a principle, if you are able to repay, then I believe the Scriptures teach that you should repay in full as you initially contracted/promised to do. Show less
