Steven Sim has worked for more than 27 years in the cybersecurity field with large end-user enterprises and critical infrastructures, led Group Cybersecurity Centre of Expertise (CoE), undertaken global CISO role, driven award-winning CSO50 security governance and management initiatives and headed incident response, security architecture, engineering and operations, technology management and training and awareness at local, regional and global levels. He had led cybersecurity across large MNCs, heading 8 direct reports at Group Cybersecurity Department as well as indirect reports across regional offices and local business units in 44 countries.Always keen to give back to the community, he also volunteered at the ISACA Singapore Chapter (which won ISACA Global Outstanding Chapter Achievement in 2022) as the President (from 2021 to 2022) and OT-ISAC (since 2021), the second key thrust of the SG's OT Cybersecurity Masterplan 2019, as the Chair of the Advisory Committee (i.e. past Executive Committee). He is also a member of the Geneva Dialogue Technical Community, CSO Security Council, CSA Cyber Essentials and Cyber Trust Standards Working Group, among many voluntary roles. He had also volunteered his time as a member of ISACA’s Information Security Advisory Group and Emerging Trends Working Group, He is also currently a member of the Emerging Technology Advisory Group. He holds a Masters in Computing, CCISO, CGEIT, CRISC, CISM, CISA, CDPSE, CISSP as well as technical certifications GICSP, GREM, GCIH and GPPA. He is an APMG-accredited trainer for ISACA's core certifications CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT and regularly shares his thoughts on cyber risk and security, lectures on an adjunct basis at Nanyang Technological University and National University of Singapore on Cybersecurity and Enterprise Security Architecture, and at other institutes of higher learning. He also speaks and panels at keynotes of both international and local conferences and published several articles.
