The Accelerator Centre (AC) is a Waterloo-based non-profit technology startup incubator and accelerator. In both 2018 and 2019, we were recognized as the top private business accelerator in Canada and top 5 incubator of its kind in the world, when compared to over 1,300 other organizations on metrics such as client job creation, corporate value and investment. 2018 and 2019 saw us named “Accelerator of the Year” by the Digital Finance Institute for our work in assisting AI and Fintech companies.At the AC, I delivered over $4m in new funding commitments, including the largest-ever private sector contribution in the AC’s history. I oversaw the completion of our cleantech initiative, which included leading the team towards the completion of our newest 7,000 square foot facility, a new, globally-unique cleantech program, and ensured that the project would be financially sustainable.
