About Steven Phung

Hi, I'm Steven Phung and I reside in the technology bustling Bay Area in California. My passion is in the world of making things. Not too long ago I started off dabbling in 3D printing. I printed model after model in various plastics such as PLA and ABS. The feeling of waking up to a set of beautifully printed parts reminds me of a festive Christmas morning. Eventually, I wanted to make things out of a more robust material that conventional 3D printers simply could not deliver. Learning CAD/CAM as part of my journey into the world of machining is my current passion as a maker. The amount of detail and complexity involved is much more than I imagined but working towards perfection is something I enjoy with everything I create.In my professional life, my career started with an addiction to writing code for humans to read. There was nothing more satisfying to me than to be able to concisely explain an idea using shared vocabulary. Eventually, I began to broaden my technical abilities and learned how to design, build, deploy, and maintain systems while working with companies making the transition from desktop to cloud. I've been fortunate to have had these experiences which have shaped my perspective on how to be successful at delivering systems that work 24/7.
