Being trained in philosophy and political science, I consider myself to be a broadly oriented political scientist, mainly focusing on European Politics, particularly EU institutions, European integration and political parties. This (relatively broad) orientation is also reflected in my teaching record and research interests.Apart from what is common for an academic (teaching, doing research and publishing) I regularly give guest lectures, organize events or participate in panel debates (also abroad and mainly on EU related topics) and I have, among other things, experience with contract projects (next to fundamental research).I consider engagement very important in my professional and private life. Therefore I also enjoy my professional network (politicians, diplomats and civil servants), often with links to my research. As far as data collection is concerned I have a lot of experience with archived documents and elite interviews.
