Creating software for ophthalmologists

PhD researcher at UGent - IBCN - iMinds- PhD obtained in September 2020- Conducting research on modern and future network technologies (IP, optical networks) in the framework of European-level and national research projects.- Analysis of the current network technologies and development of new network algorithmsand concepts, e.g. on Software-Defined Networks (SDN) or Network Function Virtualisation (NFV).- Building up hands-on experience by implementing these network concepts and by evaluating through emulation on a large testbed or through detailed simulations.

TPVision (former Philips) Sector: Consumer ElectronicsFunctie: Design Engineer ElectronicsTransforming high-level functional requirements to working electronics to be used inside televisions. The typical TV environment poses several strict constraints regarding: user experience, cost effectiveness, circuit-size, EMC, … Designing / implementing/validating circuits and components for : capacitive detection (capacitive touch button controls), RF (TV remote and receiver using Zigbee/RF4CE standard) , Wifi, light sensor, infra-red devices (infra-red TV remote and receiver).• Analysis of the high-level requirements and translation into technical/electrical specifications.• Investigating technical feasibility, cost-effective implementations of the project• Align with other functional boundaries of the total product (mechanical boundaries, ESD, EMC standards, software interactions,…)• Cooperation with suppliers, CAD-team, outsource(OEM/ODM) partners to make clear what the requirements and deilveries are. (also regarding quality and reliability). • Following up progress to meet the planning of the project• Test the deliveries, and give feedback to team members to optimize design.• Final validation in total system.• Make the design ready for mass production. (ensuring tolerances, stability, production testability)

• Implementation and outsourcing of test systems for own products and third-party clients (also internationally). • Development and documentation of test-procedures for use in a production-environment.• Testing and debugging of electronical applications, from PCB up to finished product (analog, digital, RF,...).
