Working with several local public schools, I served as a teacher or IEP Rover in elementary schools and schools for students with autism. I taught every subject and grade level, and on some days I taught a multitude of grade levels and subject areas. I was the preferred sub for a number of teachers and my schedule filled quickly, leading to being the first and top choice for several permanent year-long positions since the 2012-2013 school year.

Via Skype, I meet with pre-screened candidates across the country to conduct interviews with potential Test Prep and Academic Tutors. During our interviews, I test the candidate's knowledge, teaching style, and find out why he/she might be a great fit for StudyPoint. Within hours of our meeting, I report back to our Director of Recruitment and Training regarding the interview and make a hiring recommendation.Once hired, all new tutors are assigned a New Tutor Mentor. In this role, I take on the training questions and overall guidance of my new tutors as they introduce themselves to the company and navigate their first few months of employment. Through quick communication and detailed assistance, I am able to help them have a great start to their tutoring career.

I get to work one on one with some very talented and bright students as we prepare for the SAT and/or ACT test, bring their grade up in their academic coursework, and get them admitted to college. Weekly lessons are structured to teach new ways of looking at problems. focusing on time management, and realizing that they are able to get an outstanding score on any test or assignment they complete. I have been blessed to work with students who have gone up 7 points on the ACT test, 300 points on the SAT, students who have received a perfect composite score of 36 on their ACT test, students who got a perfect 12 on their ACT essay, students who got an A on an English paper for the first time, and student who got accepted into the top ranking schools - often with outstanding scholarship offers. I have worked as a Director, Producer, Lighting Designer, Scenic Designer, Costume Designer, Stage Manager, Carpenter, House Manager, or Sound Designer on almost 100 theatrical shows in my career, spanning from small community theatres to highly regarded regional and professional theatres. I have been honored to collaborate with a wealth of brilliant directors, designers, technicians, and actors in my various roles and I look to continue this work throughout my life.

As the lead Special Event Coordinator for Eastern Michigan University's Career Services Intern Team I planned, developed and implemented six career fairs annually. I served as student team leader of EMU’s Teacher Job Fair, which attracted thousands of candidates and hundreds of recruiters for Michigan’s largest teacher recruitment event in history. I founded and executed three new career fairs, implemented corporate relations policy, accomplished grass-roots marketing, managed student payroll, finalized budget and records management, as well as lead a team of student interns, including training, development, and evaluation during my tenure.
