Working as part of the field service engineering team within the UK power network division of the business. Working on transformers, switchgear, switchyards, isolators and breakers, achieving high client performance targets within deadlines. Responsible for fault finding, maintenance, resistor calibration, risk assessment and permit holding according to customer’s specifications. Deputising for the senior field engineer and project managing small teams whist adopting a hands-on approach as and when the project requires. Responsibilities:• Installation maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment;• Involved in the examination, development as well as testing of mechanical equipment. Responsible for providing engineering support for workshop activities to ensure that components and equipment is maintained and refurbished correctly;• Carrying out safety tests, resistance checks, and insulation tests, recording results on mechanical equipment and systems and recommending improvements;• Regularly testing motors, heaters, large liquid resistors, disconnection and earthing.
