Working in the Information Management and Business Applications global product team I was responsible for the delivery of all the projects related to Information Management, Business Intelligence, Systems Integration and Business. I managed a team of four project managers to deliver these projects ensuring they were delivered on time, to cost and expected quality. My annual project budget of £1.5m was predominantly opex costs developing systems using MS SharePoint, ASP.NET, Visual Studio, SQL, Oracle, MS Access and Team Foundation Server. Both agile and waterfall methodologies were used to manage these projects.As the Project Delivery lead in the portfolio I was responsible for;• Governance – meeting regularly with the project managers to review their projects, focusing on; progress, milestones, costs, risks, issues, change control, lessons learnt and documentation• Prioritisation – Reviewing regularly the portfolio with senior management to agree project priorities in conjunction with resource plans and business cases• Resource Management – Working with the product team leads and senior management to ensure all resource availability, capacity and capability was fully understood• Project initiation and setup – Working with all project requestors and SME’s to develop a business case, approach, scope, cost to secure financial approval from the sponsor• Delivery improvements – leading in the development of processes to manage projects, prioritisation, resource management and programme delivery• Reporting • Project advisor, mentor and coach to the project managers - Bi-weekly 1:2:1 with project managers to discuss any challenges (projects, performance, personal or career progression) - Chair bi-weekly team meeting to build and develop the team • Portfolio budget control – Working with the finance team on portfolio change budgets for future demand

Working for the Resource Management Lead I was responsible for process improvement and reporting for a number of IS teams brought under the banner of Business Solutions, developing processes, developing toolsets, training and improving the team’s ability to manage project demand and resource more effectively. Working closely with the finance team to develop an effective billing mechanism for projects. There was a significant emphasis on global reporting for; project costs (including forecast), agreed resourcing, resource requests, productivity reporting and billing. Management reporting included project costs (time bookings, capital costs, software costs and technical services), customer billing, committed resources, new resource requests, project forecasts and project schedules. The work involved significant stakeholder management implementing new ways of working and toolsets to manage the projects and support work more effectively.
