This resulted in a 86% decrease in obsolete parts and a $850K reduction in inventory. LEAN IMPLEMENTATION: Starting with multiple Kaizen events, built a team that implemented a full factory redesign. Overall the project took 13 months and resulted in true front to back flow, cellular manufacturing and quality optimization that allowed the company to go from a 3 shift operation to a 2 shift operation. Overtime was also reduced from 18% of total payroll down to 3%. Customer on time delivery increased from 65% to 94% and scrap was reduced to less than 2% internally and less than .5% externally.
