After graduating from UC Berkeley, I started my career developing video games at a small (4-person) development shop, Third-i Productions. Being at a small company allowed me not only to expand my programming skills by developing 3D games for Hasbro Interactive, but also to learn the product and business side of a company. After leaving Third-i, I moved into online, multiple-player games at Sony Online Entertainment. This provided me my first exposure to the demands of large-scale Internet development. I took this experience to CBS Digital Media, were I led a team developing the back-end technology for CBS.com and CBSNews.com. While there, my team built out the video serving infrastructure for CBS’s websites – everything from transcoding, content management, serving, ad insertion and syndication. I then decided to leave corporate life and join a start-up, Tremor Video. While there, I built and led an amazing engineering department, which includes development, quality assurance, system administration, information technology, and technical support. After Tremor Video, I joined Visible World where my team and I built systems to bring household-based targeted advertising to the Television marketplace. Now, I am a full-time consultant, helping companies with their technology needs.
