About Steve P.
I have 30 years of experience of working in various data analytics, sales, consultancy and customer training roles serving the UK interactive TV industry. My specialties are: Data analytics, UK TV Televote and TV Competition services, Premium rate interactive TV services, the BT RIDE platform and other Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Services, Telecoms voice and data networks, call centre services and inbound call routing services.I joined the BBC ITACU team as a permanent part-time member of staff in March 2015. This team are responsible for viewer and listener interactive services which includes TV voting shows such as "Strictly Come Dancing" and "Sports Personality of the Year", charity campaigns such as "Children in Need" and "Comic Relief" and many other services where the viewing and listening public are asked to engage directly with BBC TV and radio programmes via phone call, text message, web page or social media. From late 2009 until early 2015 I was engaged as a freelance contractor for the BBC ITACU team and other Broadcast TV projects including "The X Factor" 2009 series for a project involving Service Provider (Harvest Media), Production Company (Fremantle), Broadcaster (ITV) and main series sponsor (Talk Talk). My experience at BT Agilemedia from mid 2003 to mid 2009 included providing customer training in the use of the BT RIDE platform to deliver UK TV Televote services, I also worked with ITV to define the operational training and process documentation to allow them to establish their own in-house Interactive TV Service Provider unit, allowing them to operate and maintain direct control over their premium rate TV vote and competition services such as the "This Morning" competition and the "Dancing on Ice" and "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here" voting series.From 1991 to mid 2003 I held various Sales, System Engineering and Account Management roles in BT Media Sales working with the BBC, ITV and ITV Digital, Sky TV and Sky Active and a number of specialist Service Provider companies that served the UK interactive TV sector. I graduated from Aston University in June 1991 with a First Class Honours degree in Electronic Systems Engineering (MEng Hons) - a 4 year programme where I was sponsored by British Telecom.
