As a Fire Prevention Specialist II with the City of Phoenix, I play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our community by reviewing, analyzing, and inspecting construction and fire protection systems for compliance with local, state, and national fire codes. My responsibilities include conducting detailed plan reviews for fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, and other fire protection equipment to verify adherence to applicable codes and standards, such as the International Fire Code (IFC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.I evaluate designs for fire suppression and detection systems, ensuring the accuracy of hydraulic and electrical calculations, sprinkler spacing, and other technical aspects to ensure that buildings are adequately protected in the event of an emergency.
