About Steve O'Brien

General Counsel and tech enthusiast who loves big challenges and building companies and teams. In my law firm career, I’ve helped financial institutions navigate capital markets, regulators and the financial crisis of 2008. As an in-house attorney, I helped grow a legal team from four to 35 and execute a $1 billion IPO. As a General Counsel, I am responsible for all Legal and Compliance matters in addition to the People function for the first software platform in the industry to deliver real credit offers from multiple lenders online. We’ve grown the company 25x, transitioned from a partner bank to SaaS model and signed multi-year agreements with the biggest financial institutions and manufacturers in the world. I have a deep understanding of the financial technology business and the balance required in the industry between zero tolerance for errors and innovation.
