First Point Supplybase is the Achilles system for the oil and gas industry in the Asia Pacific region.First Point Supplybase is the culmination of a journey that began in 1999 when the Australian oil and gas industry peak body, APPEA, saw the merit in having an industry-standard online supplier identification and pre-qualification system.Supplybase VRS was developed for APPEA by Pretzel Logic and was spun off as a separate company in 2002.In February 2011 Supplybase VRS was acquired by Achilles Information Limited - a global provider of industry pre-qualification and supply chain risk management solutions servicing 750 of the world's largest businesses across 23 countries. Achilles has captured and validated information for over 77,000 suppliers worldwide.

Supplybase is the Vendor Registration System dedicated to the Australian Oil and Gas Industry.Established in 2000 Supplybase was acquired by the international Achilles Information Limited group in February 2011 and has been relaunched as First Point Supplybase.

Started Pretzel Logic in 1992 as a marketing consultancy specialising in the use of new technologies.Pretzel Logic was one of Australia's true Internet pioneers, growing to a staff of 61 in 2000.Many, if not most of Western Australia's largest companies and government agencies utilised Pretzel Logic for web development and online application services at some stage during the 1990s.Pretzel Logic was also the career catalyst for dozens of talented young designers, project managers and application developers - many of whom went on to senior roles around the world.

As Computers and Technology section editor I was responsible for researching and writing business and consumer-oriented stories on the latest hardware, software and associated technologies - typically between 1 and 3 pages per week.

Joined as Account Director, promoted to General Manager and later to Managing Director prior to sale of the business to Clemenger.

Responsible for marketing strategy and implementation, managing a multi-million dollar budget.

As head of the media planning and buying function I was responsible for strategic media advice and planning, mentoring and managing media team, development of new business strategies, relationship building with media sales management. During this period I developed the first PC-based system for media analysis and schedule control - using a 48kb Tandy TRS-80.

As a member of the management team I developed advertising media strategies for clients and new business pitches, planned and negotiated media buys and developed enduring relationships with media executives at all levels.
