Hired to stabilize the business, bring in business process and controls, generate accurate P&L information and ready the company to be broken into separate LLC’s to be absorbed by the owner.

Business Analysis and ERP Project Leader - Established steel distributor was having difficulty meeting business demands after a growth cycle. Analyzed the business and made recommendations to Board. Key was to implement a Tier I ERP system. Was asked to lead the project. Established team and steering team, led software selection, and trained company employee to be project leader.

Procurement Department policy and procedure redesign project. Analyzed and re-wrote all procurement policies and procedures for the Large Gulf Coast Petrochemical Complex

Worked 3 months on materials management for a large Petrochemical company on an environmental issue.

Responsible for global operational process development, business commercial development, manufacturing optimization.• Led an analysis of company’s global spare parts management systems. Determined that half the company’s $50M in spare parts were excess. Developed systems for sharing parts between sites; selected vendors to wholesale out unused parts, and wrote and implemented procedures to clarify expectations for ordering and inventorying maintenance materials. • Improved annual inventory audit compliance. The ten largest manufacturing sites failed portions of their yearly physical inventory audits. Wrote the company policies and procedures for inventory processes, including physical inventory and cycle counting for raw materials, products, inventory in closed vessels, and spare parts. Trained 90 sites and conducted audits of the process at 20 sites. Result: Within a year failed inventory audits decreased to zero. • Developed a training course for site managers for manufacturing site SOX controls and taught the course to over 200 site managers across four continents over a year. Result: All manufacturing SOX compliance audits passed for the company’s first year of SOX certification. Participants felt the course was so well taught that many sent others on their management team to later classes.

Led operations areas for an SAP project to combine several companies.

Led a group of 40 Customer Service Representatives; SAP Specialists; Logistics, Production, and Demand Planners; and Import/Export Specialists. Reported directly to company CEO and led special projects as per needed.

Led the operations module of an SAP implementation. The company had acquired assets from another company and the project was to merge the two companies onto one SAP client. The operations part had 220 people working on it. The entire project was fast-tract with the start being in October and Go Live being January 1.

Resolution Performance Products was formed when Shell Oil Company sold its epoxy resin business to a private equity owner. The Site Leader position was for the company's largest US site. The site had an overall staff of 160 people. The position had P&L responsibility for all costs. The site was union represented. All functions including operations, maintenance, engineering, EHS, human resources, procurement, and business services reported to the Site Leader. The site leader was also responsible for all public relations and interactions with neighboring petrochemical plants.

Production Manager for the epoxy resin units and the chemical plant biotreater. This position had operations and maintenance responsibility and reported directly to the complex manager. The department had 80 people which included operators, maintenance technicians, foremen, maintenance specialists, and engineers.

Manager of the Analytical Chemistry Technical Support to Operations department. The department had 40 direct reports and provided chemistry and environmental testing technical support to Shell's US refineries and chemical plants.
