After 6 years at my dream job with an amazing company it looks like I will need to move on. Three years of jumping through political hoops to get a 25 year master planned community annexed into Colorado Springs, and we got punched in the gut and denied annexation. As such, there is now no need for a Director of Development. I will be looking at all opportunities with a keen eye toward building teams (or repairing dysfunctional ones) and establishing processes for ultimate success. This is what I truly love to do. While at La Plata I lead a group of siloed individuals, that produced unreliable results,missed deadlines and overran budgets to a team that delivered projects on time and under budget for two consecutive years (before La Plata ran out of land to develop).I spent two years at the City of Colorado Springs Stormwater Enterprise. I was hired to set up the Storm Water Plan Review Team and implement processes for day to day operation. I hired a fantastic group of engineers that worked well together. The group reduced plan review times by nearly 70% and took on the arduous task of implementing a criteria manual that had no room for wisdom or experience. HistoryAfter working one long hot summer as a landscaper in Arizona I decided I needed to get a job inside. I landed a job at a civil engineering firm making bluelines and delivering said bluelines around Phoenix. I expressed an interest in drafting and after about 6 months I came in the office to help out on a project. Since then I have worked my way up from drafting, designing, surveying (office only), management, ownership, and leadership.Specialties: My areas of expertise, or "Gifting" if you will, are in building teams, implementing processes and mentoring young talent.
