As a CISO leader, I have most recently implemented many changes at a $1.5B Taft-Hartley pension and benefit fund to raise the company’s security posture by instituting a company-wide cyber security education program, implemented new Sophos firewalls along with end point protection and real time monitoring as well as drafted cyber security policies. As a part of increasing the security efforts at Pipeline Industry Benefit Fund, I also led the initiative to migrate the fund’s transactional application to a cloud hosted solution, allowing the company to shift the risk to the vendor and their full-time team of security professionals. In addition, I transitioned into the Operations Manager role in June of 2022 after the retirement of the prior manager and have taken over responsibilities of the daily operations of the fund. Duties include supporting the systems and processes of all incoming HIPAA related documentation, claims, and pension statements from cradle to grave. My current role is also responsible for the flow of contributions from organized labor into one of four funds: 401k, 401k Emp, Health and Welfare as well as Pension, ensuring the dollars accrued by members is accurately transferred weekly. In prior roles as a Sr. IT Leader, I have been involved in many initiatives that have allowed me to work with several layers organizations ranging from the field to executive level management. Often these projects were implementing new software and processes that increased efficiencies or provided visibility into operational data so business leaders could make better informed decisions.
