Dr. Steve Schein is a family business advisor and corporate sustainability strategist at L4S Consulting. His 2015 book A New Psychology for Sustainability Leadership: The Hidden Power of Ecological Worldviews has been featured in US News & World Report, The Guardian, Bloomberg News, Psychology Today, GreenBiz, and numerous leadership and strategy journals.His primary areas of consulting are family business advising, leadership development, corporate sustainability strategy, and management succession. Steve is passionate about helping families, individuals, and teams develop strategic focus and tap into their deeper motivations to cultivate purpose driven families and organizations for the long haul and benefit of the next generation.He is a certified public accountant (CPA) and former CEO with more than 35 years of leadership, business development, and senior management experience in several industries. From 2005-2015, Steve was a member of the faculty at SOU where he founded the sustainability leadership certificate program and former Expert-in-Residence at the Presidio Graduate School in San Francisco.Prior to this he was a director of consulting at Moss Adams and President of resort management companies in Colorado and Arizona. In 1998, he co-founded an NYSE company, ResortQuest International, where he served as a senior vice-president and corporate officer until 2004. Earlier in his career, Steve was an international auditor with Arthur Young and Nabisco Brands. He has speaks three foreign languages: Spanish, French, and Portuguese.Steve earned his PhD in Human Development and Organizational Systems from Fielding Graduate University and his BA in accounting from the University of Colorado.
