About Steve Schmitt

As Group Vice President for Enterprise Strategic Engagements at Oracle North America Cloud Division, Steve is responsible for building transformational “One Oracle” Partnerships with Oracle’s largest customers in the Healthcare, Retail, Communications, Media, Gaming, Professional Services, and Technology industries. Works closely across all internal Oracle technology areas, including Applications and Oracle’s Industry Business Units, and extends to Oracle’s Global Systems Integrators and Technology Partners. Steve has spent three decades in the Information Technology industry. Began his career as a Software Engineer in the intelligence, defense, and financial services industries. Appointed CIO of the City of Pittsburgh and subsequently became CIO of two publicly traded telecom companies: FORE Systems (NASDAQ: FORE) and Crown Castle International (NYSE: CCI). As CIO, he directed the implementation of numerous global enterprise systems and collectively managed over 700 personnel in seven countries on four continents. Steve was a founding member of four technology startups, including two academic spin-outs from the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. He has held Director positions on five Boards with two successful liquidity events. Previously, Steve held business development positions at Amazon Web Services (AWS), supporting Fortune 500 clients, where he saw firsthand the challenges these organizations face as they began their enterprise cloud journeys. These experiences were the catalyst to rejoin Oracle to address these problems head-on and unleash the power of the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to fundamentally transform how companies do business.A graduate of Robert Morris University with a BS in Information Systems and Carnegie Mellon University with an MPM in Information Technology. Steve resides in Pittsburgh, PA, and is known to root for the Steelers, Pirates & Penguins
