As lead mentor for the Stanford StartX community and an executive mentor for other startups, I'm providing guidance and support to brilliant, energetic entrepreneurs who are making our world better by building clean energy solutions, mitigating climate change, improving access to clean air, safe food and water, and achieving health and medical breakthroughs. Previously, I built teams, products and companies using software and hardware technologies in clever and powerful ways. I worked with leaders and innovators in mobile computing, wireless technologies, big data, machine learning, AI, SaaS network operations and security. I've had the pleasure and challenge of working with some of the most creative and brilliant people around. Some businesses were successful; some not. But the experiences with the people and products were spectacular, intriguing, and rewarding. I co-founded Orative (acquired by Cisco) and DataRover Mobile Systems and was a leader and executive at startups Guardian Analytics (acquired by NICE Actimize), Vayusphere, Everypath, General Magic (IPO), TCSI (IPO) and Gather Computing. I've also held management and technical positions at Hewlett-Packard and McDonnell Douglas/Tymnet.
