I am partner and chair of Faegre Drinker’s Insurance practice group. In this role, I am responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary and national team of more than 85 professionals dedicated to providing excellent service to our insurance industry clients. Beyond leading this exceptional group, my practice is primarily focused on long term care insurance (LTCi). I founded Faegre Drinker’s LTCi Team in 2003, and remain one of the co-leaders of what is now a 20+ lawyer unit. Our team serves the LTCi community on every aspect of the business – from product development to claims issues to regulatory compliance matters to individual and class litigation. We also have been involved in numerous LTCi reinsurance and stock sale transactions for buyers and sellers. Our team is dedicated to the LTCi community we serve, and we are heavily involved in industry organizations including the ILTCI, the SOA’s LTC Section, and the Long Term Care Insurance International Forum. We also organize a biennial Long Term Care Insurance Summit, which brings together community leaders and lawyers to exchange ideas about the most important issues facing the community (Summit 2020 is scheduled for October 13-15, 2020). I have served as acting General Counsel for multiple LTCi community members, including one carrier for which I played that role for three years and which included spending multiple days each month in the carrier’s offices. My team is passionate about the people and the mission of the LTCi community.
