Let's talk about salmon and our watersheds. What is the legacy that our generations are building? There are many projects and programs stepping in the direction of returning the environment to its natural state. Seeking balance with our communities and targeting resiliency, we have much to learn before we claim success. The processes in place for the design, environmental compliance, permitting, construction, and monitoring are a reasonable framework when all projects have similar long term goals. Looking forward to helping improve projects to directly benefit short term salmon recovery and long term population stability. When projects prioritize outcomes other than salmon metrics, we can still find the value and be sure to elevate the importance in all the work that we do. Salmon are keystone species, and their health is a direct reflection of our actions and stewardship of the environment.Over the past 27 years, my career has allowed me to grow expertise through a variety of projects in the western United States. Initially working on flood mapping projects and river restoration efforts, I transferred and focused my engineering skills toward environmental review and regulatory permitting projects, while still seeking the next exciting restoration design challenge. As my opportunities continued to expand, I welcomed roles in management. This path led me to the Pacific Northwest. Having worked in a variety of markets including the Sacramento Valley, San Francisco Bay Area, Puget Sound, and the Columbia River Basin, I have developed an appreciation for the similarities and nuances of each geography. I am confident in my ability to adapt to the changing market and forging of long standing relationships with valued clients.See you on the river, swinging flies and attempting to capture the photos of the fish that grace our home waters.
