    Update as of October 2023:PDG Consultants, Inc. is still a Microsoft Dynamics Partner (as it has been for 20 years). During the last 3 years, we have switched our focus from Dynamics GP to Dynamics 365 Business Central. In order to prepare for this change I spent months taking courses in Business Central Financial, Operations, Reporting, and AL Code Development. We also hired a full-time AL Code Developer, with 20 years of NAV/BC development and Functional Consulting experience. From 2020 to 2023 we migrated 5 of our GP clients to Business Central. Two of the jobs (a large real estate company and a large international bookseller) took thousands of hours of development, implementation and user training.Our skills now are focused exclusively in designing and writing custom AL Code extensions for Business Central.     In 2002 I created PDG Consultants, Inc. (formerly PrettyDarnGood Consultants, Inc.), to service small business with Microsoft's Small Business Manager software (SBM). It was easily customized using SQL, Visual Basic, and Continuum API. There were 4 of us: 2 developers, 1 sales manager, and an accountant. Because SBM was priced competitively and because of our SQL skills (MCPs), we gained many clients. By 2008 Microsoft discontinued SBM and we moved our SBM clients to Dynamics GP. We then sold, customized, and supported Dynamics GP. In 2010 we became a Microsoft Silver CRM Partner and used CRM to integrate with GP as well as QAD (ERP software for Mfg.).For integrations: we write our own in Visual Studio; or use Scribe or SmartConnect. With Visual Studio, SQL, and eConnect for GP, we have written extensive customizations for: an electronics distributor, a pallet manufacturer, a large Avaya dealer, a cosmetics distributor, an airport, and a large bookseller.Now we are currently (2018) working with for a, multi-state, client pushing sales orders from an external system to D365 Business Central - using SmartConnect. We are also using SmartConnect to automate the fuel farm on an airport as purchase receipts and sales invoices into GP in a Private Cloud. And again for a passenger ferry line to post ticket sales and freight invoices into GP.Until December 2020 we have been supporting a highly customized GP for a maintenance company with 50+ franchises all across the US.Starting 2021 we joined Velosio as Microsoft Partners; and we switched from GP to Business Central Cloud. We have 2 experienced and skilled NAV/BC developers and are moving our GP clients to Business Central Cloud. The power of Business Central Cloud (formerly Navision) is its ability to be customized with a built-in language (AL). This means customers don't get stuck in 10 years with "bespoke code" and not able to upgrade to the latest version of their ERP. Velosio's motto is "Move to Modern".
