Cloud transformations of Data Analytics and Integration functions. Migrations of file shares to Sharepoint Online.

Transformation and refresh of both primary and secondary Tier 3 datacenters from the ground up. Built completely new network and server infrastructure and then migrated all workloads onto them. Followed by migrations of subsidiary datacenters onto the new infrastructure and Office 365/MFA rollouts.

Transformation of 21 legacy applications into Azure and AWS clouds using “As a Service” model. Moving Sydney Trains over to a new delivery model presented significant challenges. Technical as well as process and governance. The outcome is a brand-new resilient hosting option for Sydney Trains.

Infrastructure projects including Windows 10 Desktop development & rollout, SAN replacements, Windows Server 2003 / Red Hat 5 Migrations & UpgradesaHaH and implementing Enterprise database servers. Ran an Azure feasibility study and implemented an Express Route to the cloud.Application projects included a Mobile Platform rollout, upgrades of Peoplesoft Tools, Atlassian products (Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket) and Onestop (payments system).

Application and infrastructure rollouts for the TV, News and Radio divisions. Tender management for audio post production and transcoding applications as well as satellite infrastructure upgrades. Managing projects from beginning to end starting with business requirements through tender and vendor management to deployment.

Desktop hardware refresh and upgrade to Windows 8 for Specialist Mobile teams and regional sites (5,675 users). Management of relationship with the Business units involved. Included running and managing the Business client Steering Groups and Working groups as well as managing all back-end deployment activities and application issues.

Worked in HP’s Data Centre Transformation Program which built a new datacenter at Eastern Creek and consolidated several datacenters into it. Implemented a new leveraged Mainframe, Brocade fabric, SAN Storage and Backup/Recovery Services in HP’s new datacenter at Eastern Creek. The largest project of my career. Managed IT infrastructure projects including establishing a new datacentre in Port Macquarie, development of a new ICT monitoring strategy and rollout of media streaming facilities to Field Support Centres.

Managing application portfolio for UG Rail and UG Services. Involved consulting with these two business portfolios and meeting their IT requirements. Included all their application rollouts, upgrades and transitions – incl. a JD. Edwards upgrade for Services division. Also site establishments/relocations in remote areas and some Tier 1, 2 and 3 datacenter relocations/decommissions across Australia, New Zealand and China.

Developed proposal and implemented a mine site relocation for BHP Billiton. Relocated and consolidated critical voice/server/network applications and infrastructure from Appin Mine to Douglas Park. Managed remediation and/or migration of all legacy NT 4 systems and applications to Win2003/Active Directory for the Group Services areas of the Bank. Decommissioned 68 systems resulting in savings of close to two million dollars per annum. Work involved liaison and coordination between the Business Units, internal support groups as well as multiple outsourcers for both infrastructure and application development/support.

Delivered projects to Fujitsu customers. Responsible for the full project lifecycle from requirements analysis, proposal development, quoting, execution, budgeting and change management.Major clients included Victorian traffic authority (TAC), RTA and Caltex.
