Stavros (Steve) Spetsieris has a multi-disciplinary background in biochemistry and education. My classroom philosophy revolves around creating a welcoming learning environment. To this end, student vernacular and personal experiences are valued greatly in making sense of scientific phenomena and informing my teaching practice. My recent areas of professional development include differentiated teaching, development of practical curricula and inquiry-based lesson planning. Some of my proudest moments as an educator have been my many experiences in school sports. I believe educators should get involved with student life, as well as the community in order to continually improve the quality of school life.
