Although I focus my practice on employment law, transportation law, professional liability and product liability litigation, I have a wide range of experience as a trial lawyer handling matters involving medical negligence, nursing home abuse, construction defects, as well as toxic tort (asbestos and silica) claims. Regardless of the type of claim, I consider my primary job to be assisting both individuals and companies with intelligently resolving their disputes both before and after a lawsuit is filed.In my employment practice, I assist employers with some of their most difficult staffing issues including sexual harassment, wrongful discharge and racial discrimination. Prior to serious problems develop, I assist my clients with pro-active counseling to prevent isolated incidents from turning into costly lawsuits. I also assist employers and individuals with employment agreements, confidentiality and non-compete agreements. In my transportation practice, I defend numerous national and local motor carriers in litigation involving claims of catastrophic injury, disfigurement and wrongful death. Prior to claims being filed, I also help my clients by coordinating emergency response accident investigation, reconstruction and evidence preservation and engage in comprehensive pre-suit claim analysis and valuation for catastrophic injury claims. My transportation practice also includes assisting motor carriers in defense of cargo liability claims, including damaged cargo, personal injury, and collection of freight charges. My employment experience also allows me to assist transportation clients with employment matters including driver retention, discipline and termination as well as the defense of wage claims, unemployment claims and claims alleging discrimination under state and federal fair employment laws.
