My interest in engineering was sparked when I started modifying the engine and electronics of my Datsun 240 Z. In 2006, I started working part time for a manufacturing and engineering firm as an assistant in the shop. Here I gained a number of skills dealing with electricity and wiring, machining and welding/fabrication, handling hazardous materials and general assembly of industrial machinery. Working in the shop gave me experience in manufacturing and the tools necessary to produce the best possible product for the customer. This hands-on background became the foundation for my engineering education to build upon and improve my knowledge and abilities. Becoming an engineer gave me knowledge of materials science, fluid mechanics/dynamics, and 3D CAD modeling and analysis, among other disciplines. While at the university I was also involved in the Formula SAE design club where I was the suspension design lead on the formula car. As one of the leaders handling the management of the club and its members, our team represented CSULB in the Formula SAE competition for the first time in about 7 years. I am a focused team player but also able to work well independently, striving to improve upon or create something as strong, fast and efficient as possible using my creativity and problem solving abilities.
