I aim to have made a lasting impact, by helping organizations navigate the complexities of cyber security and instilled confidence in their ability to safeguard their operations and data.As an Independent Consultant and Fractional/vCISO, I provide strategic and operational guidance on cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance for various clients, leveraging my extensive background. I have over 30 years of information security experience, I began my career monitoring phone calls and fax transmissions for the U.S. Air Force Intelligence in the 80's. I was one of the original members of the U.S. Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team in the mid-90's, where I received my second Commendation Medal for participation in response to a hack on several Department of Defense facilities. Eventually joining AEP and leading the enterprise physical and cyber security, aviation, and UAV/drone operations for American Electric Power, one of the largest energy companies in the U.S. and a critical part of the U.S. electric grid. I am a graduate of the FBI Domestic Security Executive Academy, a prestigious program that enhances the leadership and collaboration skills of senior executives in the public and private sectors who are responsible for protecting the nation's critical infrastructure. I am a board member and chair of the audit committee for Fairfield Medical Center, and an executive committee member for Governor Holcomb's Indiana Executive Council on Cybersecurity. I have testified before Congress, advised Senate committees and military/political leaders, and been interviewed by various media outlets as a subject matter expert on cybersecurity. I am passionate about protecting the US from cyber-attacks, sharing my knowledge and expertise with others, and advancing the cybersecurity profession.
