Managed the turnaround of an international Tier I automotive company in Europe which included electronics and assembly manufacturing in the UK, Germany and Eastern Europe. Responsible for the global supply chain redeployment across Mexico, China, India, Argentina and Eastern Europe. A privately held company with over one thousand employees.

Retained as Executive Vice President to manage the restructuring of a $70 million dollar electronics assembly company in Indianapolis, Indiana with engineering and sales in Detroit, Michigan and sales, distribution & importation from the Pacific Rim in San Diego, California. Onkyo America is a 500+ employee company that manufactures electronics products for the consumer and automotive markets.

General Manager over two plant sites that manufactured loudspeakers and electronic components as a Tier I supplier to O.E.M. automotive customers and after-market consumers under the brand names of Infinity, JBL and Harman-Kardon. Combined sales for the two plants ran $45 million per year with over 300 employees.

Responsible for the P&L of the world’s largest catalytic converter manufacturing plant. Tenneco Automotive’s exhaust division, Walker Manufacturing, produced over 1.2 million stamped and welded pollution control devices annually in the Goshen, Indiana plant. Generating over $30 million in annual sales. Two hundred fifty employees running two shifts in a non-union operating environment.

Promoted to Director of Operations. - O.E., Aftermarket and Pro. Responsible for directing the manufacturing operations of a NAFTA maquiladora plant in Mexico. Annual plant sales revenue was over $160 million annually. Brought manufacturing through a 100% increase in sales (20% per year for three straight years). Manufactured over 500,000 loudspeaker systems, 360,000 PCBs, 2 million woofers/tweeters and one million wire harnesses per year for use in domestic, professional and O.E.M. automotive applications. Managed over 800 direct employees, 75 indirects, 26 supervisors and 3 managers on a two-shift basis. Responsible for plant capacity, manpower, productivity, quality, attaining production schedules, customer on-time shipments, WIP inventory accuracy, facilities maintenance, and Manufacturing Engineering. Managed the rapid expansion of the Southwest division through three continuous years of 20% growth. Attained record productivity and received the Bose Corporate Quality Awards in 1993 and 1994. ERP system installation twice (ASK/MANMAN on a HP mainframe) that certified the plants in the top 1% of operational efficiency of all manufacturing facilities audited for Manufacturing Resource Planning. Obtained the highest audit core given by Alban & Associates for M.R.P. II installations. Certified Class "A" in July 1994. Utilized 37 behavioral and 13 performance metrics to track progress over a one year installation program that spanned 6 countries.

Received the "Bose Engineer of the Year Award" for Kaizen - Continuous Improvement, for continuous improvement for vertically integrating subassembly manufacturing from Massachusetts to Mexico and reduced unit cost 30%. Again received the "Bose Engineer of the Year Award" for Kaizen Continuous Improvement for continuous improvement for successfully increasing production to match sales 20% per year for three straight years.
