A Senior leader in higher education, currently Head of School for Law, Social and Behavioural Sciences at Kingston University. An active researcher with interests in criminology, criminal justice and policing. I studied criminology and policing at the Institute of Criminology, University of Cambridge at postgraduate level (MPhil and PhD) before moving to Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) in Kent (UK) as a full-time academic in 2002. I have held a variety of roles, including leading research projects, programme director for undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes and research degrees (MSc Research, Ph.D.), external examination roles ranging from undergraduate degrees through to PhD (at 18 different universities) and strategic research leadership. My current role at Kingston University involves implementing policy and strategy alongside four Heads of Department and Research and Teaching/Learning leaders. My research interests focus on a wide range of policing issues, particularly in police learning, professionalisation and practice, international policing, miscarriages of justice and criminal investigation.
