More than $90 million is purchased from offshore suppliers, located primarily in Mexico, China and Southeast Asia.•Developed and led the implementation of strategies for vendor-managed inventories and Kanban supply agreements with key suppliers, resulting in improved inventory turn-over, reduced cash requirements, and enhanced storage space utilization.•Developed new supplier base for the assembly plant in Monterrey, Mexico. This included implementation of new outsourcing projects and agreements to support the operation.•Led an effort to consolidate carriers and thereby leverage domestic and international freight providers in order to improve service levels and reduce costs.

Managed the Purchasing Department for a pharmaceutical company with 1,500 employees and a staff of 6 buyers with an annual raw materials budget in excess of $80 million supporting 2 manufacturing plants. Negotiated supply agreements, purchase orders, contracts, and pricing with vendors for manufacturing and administrative operations in Texas and New Jersey. Purchased Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), excipient chemicals, and packaging components from domestic and international sources. •Realized $950,000 cost savings on budgeted purchases for 2004 through vendor consolidation and centralization of purchasing activities.•Captured $450,000 in rebates by implementing volume-based rebate programs with key suppliers.•Conducted training and support to achieve professional certification for 2 buyers.•Instrumental in coordinating and supporting a $16 million annual national product launch involving both manufacturing facilities for a strategic customer.•Assumed Supply Chain management responsibility for Healthpoint division Finished Goods Inventory, including Forecasting and Production Planning of approximately 180 SKU’s.
