My peers and colleagues know me as a driven and caring individual. I am always ready to lend a helping hand or listening ear, and provide my personal and professional skills to assist any issues. I am an excellent problem solver and ensure that I come prepared through research, practice, and consultation. This leads to not only understanding the process and requirements, but to the acquisition of new skills and knowledge for future projects. I am professionally focused on offering counselling services to children, teens and young adults through a variety of therapeutic modalities. I primarily center on cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy and have been engaged in workshops to enhance my play-therapy skills. I work closely with parents to provide them understanding and tools to support growth and change in the household. I have had the opportunity to continue this professional focus with international high-school students and worked closely with an on-campus health centre to provide a holistic approach to student well-being. Learning a wide-variety of international cultures and working with their personal backgrounds was an insightful and unique experience in my career.I am currently focused on advancing my skills and knowledge in play therapy and trauma-focused modalities to further enhance my quality of care and offer services to a wider demographic.
