Co-founder and CTO of Eloqua from its inception in 1999 through IPO and acquisition by Oracle in 2012. Led the creation and evolution of the Eloqua architecture throughout that time, helping recruit and guide a team of technical experts to tackle 13 years of fascinating technical challenges. Some representative challenges we tackled together would be extreme scale (more than 10 billion transactions per day), significant extensibility and customizability for both enterprise customers and a vibrant app ecosystem, an HTML5 UI rewrite, and pioneering delivery mechanisms for enterprise SaaS technology, as one of the first of such companies.With the support of one of the most creative, pioneering, and energetic marketing departments, evangelized the modern marketing vision through writing two books (Digital Body Language, and Revenue Engine), extensive blog writing and community interaction, and more than 100 speaking engagements around the world. Worked with one of the best executive teams in the industry to lead the growth of the company from zero to $100M, including 3 venture financing rounds, a successful IPO on the Nasdaq, and ultimately an acquisition by Oracle for $955M.
