Leading a remote team of engineers to upgrade the customer-facing booking application on maersk.com from an unstable BackboneJS app to a reliable VueJS one that is aligned to Maersk's brand and ambition.Building the team, leading by example with a DORA devops and agile culture to deliver a high performance app that facilitates global trade. The app is extremely stable, and has grown to take the work from 4 separate teams, constantly improving the application, with continual releases and development. In the article, I detail how these changes more than halved the page load time for our customers.

Chairperson of the Front-End Community of Practice at Maersk as well as the lead engineer on the Maersk Design System. In this role I built an inner-source community around the design system with contributions from all parts of Maersk Technology. The front-end community grew through weekly tech talks into a hub of engineering knowledge, and annual conferences with internal and external speakers drive engagement and improve engineering ability throughout the company

As the head of web engineering I was responsible for all web interfaces on yell.com, their performance, security and integration with back-end services. I line managed 5 client-side developers and lead multiple cross-functional scrum teams of onshore and near-shore developers, totalling more than 30 engineers.I provided technical leadership for the yell.com front-end, and to resource and deliver projects alongside product owners, business stakeholders and our UX team. I report on key metrics that my projects deliver to enable Yell to make data-driven decisions.

Helped the LWS organisers to plan, deliver and expand the reach of the London Web Standards group.Every month we bring two speakers from the industry to present and discuss web standards to the London community, including speakers from Google, Microsoft, Mozilla, GDS and Twilio.I have helped bring together five major day-long events where developer evangelists from all major browsers are brought together to discuss the state of the web, The group grew in size thanks to these events and a new venue. LWS continues to produce their annual State of the Browser event.

I was part of the Information Technology Group where I deliver IT solutions for our client's most complex problems. During my tenure, I have worked on many successful projects in teams of 3 to 23, in both the public and private sectors for start-ups to global multinationals. I created PA's mobile app development capability, creating a skill group of experts to consult on this growing area.Noteable projects:- A KPI dashboard for NHS England - using the latest web technologies backed by Google AppEngine to scale to any level of traffic- PA Perfect Cost Grid - architected and built the Web UI for a manufacturing Bill of Materials cost optimiser. Built on RequireJS, Web Standards and ASP.NET- An iPad app for adhesives sales for AkzoNobel - I lead a small team of consultants to create an app to effectively show the best adhesives for a certain task from the client's catalogue.- Met Office Weather Observation Website - I was part of the team to build the world's largest crowd-sourced weather data platform on Google AppEngine
