Responsible for Engineering leadership, development, project management and maintenance for the PBS Media Operations Center (MOC). Projects included the deployment of expanded file based workflows for the network, investigation into cloud based architectures for media processing, migrating legacy editing and media ingest environments into new workflow architectures, design and build of host systems for Media Asset Management, and deployment of a growing list of file transcode requirements for new media outlets.Further duties include management of engineering and maintenance staff, development and test of systems for advanced media workflows, engineering support and technical advisory input for company strategic initiatives, and integration of IT and networking resources for department applications.Integrated systems at PBS include realtime & non-realtime broadcast systems such as AVID Interplay/ISIS, AVID MAM, Omneon Spectrum and Harris Nexio broadcast playout servers, Telestream Vantage workflow orchestration, Splunk device monitoring, Hitachi Data Systems and EMC Isilon storage systems, and VimSoft information management systems. In addition, custom software elements link Radiant Grid, Cinegy, Apple Compressor, and Telestream transcoding engines as well as Aspera, SGL, and Signiant data movers, Interra Baton file QC components, and other integrated file processing elements.

Responsible for the management and development of engineering and IT support for independent production and post production facility. Supervised staff broadcast engineers and IT personnel, manage department budgeting, and guide strategic technology initiatives for business development. Maintained supporting infrastructure for daily broadcast productions including 2 daily shows for ESPN and assorted other television projects. Advised internal and external clients on technology issues including SD and HD post production. Managed lifecycle issues for systems such as Avid Unity, Quantel Pablo, Apple Final Cut Pro, Thomson storage and routing components, and other business critical teleproduction components.

Served at Sony first as a Systems Integration Manager, later as a Broadcast Systems marketing manager, and then moved into role as Advanced Technology Specialist. Performed various functions related to the development and deployment of professional broadcast and production systems, and reported directly to the Chief Technology Officer, contributing to strategic technology initiatives and market development. Responsibilities included product management, marketing, and business development for such Sony technologies as the MPEG IMX line of VTRs and camcorders, the e-VTR mxf network applications, and emerging SONY enterprise newsroom systems for HD news production. Also tasked with advisory support of the Broadcast and Professional sales channel. Duties included producing technology white papers and marketing materials, as well as delivering key industry presentations to groups such as SMPTE, ATSC, NABA, and others.
