I am a passionate advocate of data visualisation and how it can enable better business decision making. I lead a team of business intelligence analysts and am at the forefront of driving Tableau adoption and usage at The Economist Group. Tableau is speeding up our “data set to visualisation” process and allows us to iterate and improve far more quickly. The quality and quantity of dashboards is improving across the team as I look to incorporate best-practice data visualisation, as well as community events such as Makeover Monday. I also conduct viz reviews to ensure consistent look and feel and adherence to viz guidelines.I see communication as a fundamental part of my role, to provide the business's key strategic decision makers with powerful and actionable insighta) showing stakeholders how to use a dashboard (and making it as intuitive as possible in the first place)b) holding regular workshops to show how dashboards can answer business questions c) demos for new starters and refresher training for those who need it.Articulate and a strong presenter, with public speaking experience at a Tableau event in Manchester in October 2019.Experience in various sectors: Retail, Telecommunications, Utilities and Financial Services.
