For the past 30+ years, I have earned my living in a variety of fields, doing whatever was needed to keep me busy and money flowing in. I've worked as a stagehand, lighting shop manager, technical director for theaters and a nightclub/event space/karaoke lounge, lighting designer and technical director for tours including a Russian circus, I've authored a book and a novella, driven trucks and celebrities, done guerrilla marketing, supervised crews, coordinated logistics, hauled gear, written technical riders, and even been on stage in shows as a performer.I've been tossed into impossible situations at the last minute and succeeded. I'm a cat on my feet, always landing, albeit not always gracefully but always successfully. I'm intelligent, empathetic, can express myself, possess superb customer service skills, and am a free-thinker who's not afraid to ask questions and try new things. I will work my tail off for you provided my efforts are appreciated and you hold up your end of the bargain. I will speak my mind- bluntly at times- but I will always be 100% honest but know how to temper that honesty with clients. Hiring managers always say they want people who "think outside the box". I believe in setting the box on fire and shoving it off a cliff. As an example, I have modified lighting equipment to greatly increase its functionality and road-worthiness.While I might not be the best at any one thing, I can delve into esoteric tasks with relish, such as finding thousands of feet of vintage model train tracks or calculating the safe speed for a rotating display for a $25 million sculpture for a casino in Macau. Toss a subject at me and I will research it to a fair-thee-well to learn all the ins and outs of it.I'm the sort of person who will be a tremendous addition to your venture and able to swing between a number of tasks, pitching in wherever I am most needed.Let's talk.

OwnerCurse The Darkness Lighting And Production Services Jan 1992 - PresentDo you have darkness? Are you weeping and gnashing your teeth, looking for someone to shed a little light on things?Fear not, Bunky! Curse The Darkness Lighting aka Steve Zakszewski is here to show you the light. Or light your show. I have 25+ years of experience in event production and have an unquestionable work ethic and the highest degree of professionalism. I also understand that there are two elements to shows- the technical and the artistic. One must know to always tie in the green first and untie it last, but the hard sell is to find someone who can also see a moment on stage and understand the art of lighting and capture it in a manner that perfectly complements it.I also have a wealth of experience managing crews and shepherding shows coast to coast. "Get 'em in, get 'em up, get 'em on, and get 'out." From the barely controlled chaos of a Russian circus to the local dance company recital, I treat all productions with the highest amount of respect and match the passion of those who hire me for their show. So do not curse the darkness any more. Contact Curse the Darkness and ask what I can do for you.

Ms. Dillies performed a history-making illusion that headlined the event. On 11/5 in front of press, officials from the city of New Bedford MA, and audience members, Ms. Dillies opened her sealed prediction for the election results, accurately predicting the outcome of the election.I served multiple roles in the campaign. Lighting DesignerThe Moscow Circus Feb 2004 - Mar 2008Lighting designer for the world famous Moscow Circus under Executive Producer/Director Sasha Vosk.My first tour with the Moscow Circus was as Production Manager/Stage Manager on a 30 venue national tour. The past two tours I have served as the Lighting Designer, designing and running a 160 unit conventional light plot that allowed the tour to play in budget-conscious theaters that cannot afford moving lights for a tour that traveled without any gear except the props/rigging necessary for the show. A large portion of my duties entailed tailoring my plot to individual theaters and their specific configurations- lighting inventory, hanging positions, number of dimmers, not to mention a range of lighting desks that often required programming the 200 cue show from scratch, all within the time-frame of the day.
