My professional mission has been to advance the academic capacity and competency of elementary and secondary school children by creating a climate that empowers them with skills, tools, and resources. I have signifigant experience in both urban and suburban school settings. I have extensive leadership experience as an administrator, and teacher in the school and church communities. My personal mission has been to foster the social, emotional, and academic growth of all children through meaningful instructional programs and authentic learning experiences. I believe the best education comes from empowering the whole child and nurturing their independence to become life-long learners.After serving 45 years in the education community I have now retired from full-time work in the educational field. I am changing my work focus to bring hope to those that are affected by cancer. I am staying involved in education--school accreditation and the like, but my major work focus and effort is now being dedicated to concentrate on special projects in a leadership position at Phil's Friends. Cancer is Strong. Hope is Stronger. No one should have to go through a cancer journey alone.
