Leading a migration project for a large-scale, custom-built B2C and B2B website, transitioning from DotNetNuke to Sitecore JSS integrated with Next.js. My role involves overseeing a team tasked with redeveloping both the consumer-facing and business-oriented platforms. This includes architecting a sophisticated account management area for B2B clients to handle logistics, manage employee details, and access reusable order lists.Our infrastructure heavily utilizes .NET Core for a robust middle-tier API, integrated with Redis and RabbitMQ to ensure the platform remains fast, resilient, and prepared for future enhancements. This setup minimizes the Sitecore footprint and allows for extensive system mocking, enabling Next.js developers the flexibility to use Macs.A notable innovation I introduced is the synchronization of login sessions between the legacy and new systems, facilitating incremental page launches. We also employ feature flags to allow selective customer testing in production, ensuring a seamless transition and maximizing user satisfaction.To guarantee reliability and scalability, the project employs Docker and Kubernetes, with systematic health checks and comprehensive automated testing via Cypress to uphold high quality and performance standards.

As the lead Sitecore developer at a major sports product wholesaler, I have been involved in designing and managing our B2B website and several intranet systems over the past 20 years. Each system is custom-built to accommodate extremely specific business requirements as we continue to scale. My role centers on enhancing operational efficiency through the automation of critical processes and the generation of detailed product specifications. I also handle data exchanges with major platforms like bol.com, Amazon, and Asana, improving content integration for project management tools and ensuring efficient sales and shipping updates on our B2C sites powered by Shopware.

Spearheaded the consolidation of multiple websites, integrating diverse technologies into a unified platform using Sitecore and Headless Vue.js, aligned with Aon’s proprietary design system. I was instrumental in securing approval for a complex on-premise infrastructure and driving its implementation. Leveraged TeamCity and Octopus Deploy for seamless, automated updates, enhancing system efficiency and reliability.I designed and deployed a "Rapid Form Generator" backend, enabling system administrators to transition hundreds of sales funnels into Sitecore’s personalization framework and Aon’s design system. This innovation streamlined form creation and ensured a tailored user experience that resonated with Aon's branding.Additionally, I developed comprehensive training programs for developers, content editors, and marketers, fostering platform proficiency and ensuring optimal utilization across teams.

As Lead Developer for Email Experience Manager (EXM), I led the projects of enabling Azure PaaS support for EXM 3.5, and integrating EXM into the core Sitecore installation in Version 9. I coordinated teams both remotely from London and on location in Denmark and Ukraine. The projects had a large focus on migrating from xDB to xConnect and taking the opportunity to overhaul legacy code to more modern coding standards. I worked with the DevOps and Cloud teams to ensure smooth, automated installation of EXM and designed a data generator tool for enabling meaningful demos and identifying issues with EXM and the Marketing Foundation of Sitecore as a whole.

As a Solution Architect I enjoyed helping existing customers find the best way to use Sitecore, both remotely and on-site. I consulted on many upgrade projects from Sitecore 6 up to Sitecore 8, and regularly gave the 4-day training in Website Development for .NET Developers (WND) and 1-day upgrade trainings.

As a Sales Engineer I enjoyed building proof of concepts with potential customers. I also worked on the Officecore demo solution and then the solution which eventually became Habitat, the example of Helix best-practice principles.

As Sitecore Technical Lead, I upgraded sites from Sitecore 6 to 7, and led projects with remote teams. I implemented a “base build” plus the automation needed to get developers up and running quickly on new projects and introduced processes for deployment and data migration using PowerShell scripting, TDS and Razl. Sitecore awarded me MVP status before I joined the company in June 2014.
