As an IT Support Tech for a physical security and IT company I am responsible for installing, repairing, training, and supporting on all aspects of the security process. Hardware I support includes IP Camera, analog cameras, alarm and access control systems, fire systems, network devices such as POE+ switches, and desktops. A key aspect of my job is training of customers to utilize the software associated with these devices.

When I entered into the field of youth work in 2017 I was simply looking for a job. I had no idea my entire world would be turned upside down (in the best possible way). In my time with the Club I filled dozens of roles, met many wonderful colleagues, and learned the most valuable lessons life has to teach. Our mission is simple, we want to young people, especially those who needs us most, to reach their full potential. Even though my time in youth work has come to a close, my heart will always be in it. In my position as Program Coordinator, I planned, prepared for, and facilitated targeted programming using Formula for Impact. I also coordinated with the Program Director, Unit Director, and other coordinator staff to implement program changes and support peers in their planning processes. I interviewed and provided orientation and training to volunteers. In my position as Member Inclusion Coordinator, I used behavior management protocol to proactively address problems and de-escalate situations as needed, as well as created a positive culture using the Club Code and positive reinforcement of healthy behaviors. As Administrative Assistant, I coordinated projects pertaining to facility maintenance. I created and implemented a system of service tickets for facility and technology maintenance, thus streamlining my process of responding and completing technology and facility repairs. I also completed the project of inspecting, repairing, and recycling broken technology within the building. I reorganized the storage and organization of all technology in the building.

As a collective member of Boxcar Books I managed day-to-day tasks to keep the store operational. These tasks included cleaning, stocking shelves, assisting customers, and updating store inventory. In addition to managing the store operations, it was my duty to ensure the space was open and accessible to all members of the community. In an effort to be accessible I provided resources such as needle collection and contraceptives to community members who may not otherwise have access.

As a mail coordinator I had two roles: holding site office hours and acting as Mail Coordinator.In order to honor our established connections in the community, I held monitored office hours. My role was to be available to anyone who came in and had questions about our project. In keeping with this goal I ensured the space was accessible, tidy, and working smoothly. I filled book orders to incarcerated individuals to provide continued educational opportunity, a chance for entertainment, and a strong connection to people who cared about them. As Mail Coordinator I inspected each package to ensure a successful delivery through the department of corrections. Each state, as well as prison, has its own specifications for what constitutes an acceptable parcel. It was my duty to research, keep track of, and implement these requirements. After approval I delivered packages to the post office on a weekly basis. I received denied packages and strategized new methods of delivery with fellow coordinators.

As a site laundry coordinator my role was simple, I had to make sure we had clean laundry each week. My duties were to pick up the dirty bedding and deliver it to our partners at the hospital where it would be laundered. When it was clean, I took it back to my site where it could be used to keep vulnerable folks warm on a cold winter night.
